Network Architecture - Digital Voice Architecture
NexGen utilizes ATM and IP to deploy its digital voice architecture. Small
to mid market customers, utilizing a single network carrying both voice and
data, have realized an increase in flexibility and quality due to the upgrade
in architecture. In addition to the enhanced quality of service and flexibility,
NexGen's customers realize an ongoing month to month savings. NexGen has
selected to deploy a soft switch architecture. This soft switch architecture
provides the capability for NexGen to seamlessly route voice and data calls
between the PSTN and emerging packet networks via IP to IP transit technologies.
